Well things are finally getting more calm around here. We went to Ohio for Christmas. My brother and his girlfriend joined us from Japan. It was such a nice visit. Isabella is quite the Nana's girl. She loved playing with her and Papaw too. It was amazing to have my dad and brother meet Cara for the first time. I am glad we were able to make this happen.
The flight there was a rough one. It was the first time we had traveled with kids and the first time the kids had traveled. It was a two part flight, 2 1/2 hours and 3 1/2 hours. The first flight we were crammed on the back row of a tiny plane that had 5 seats strait across the back. Isabella actually took a decent nap. This made it easy for all four of us to nap. We thought this must be how traveling with two babies was going to be for us. Perfect. Then we got on the next flight and immediately knew we would not be quite so lucky this time. They would not let Byron and I sit in the same row. There are only four air masks and all three seats had someone with a baby in their lap. So I moved up a row to a window seat so I could sit in front of Byron who had a window seat(in case Isabella decided to kick the seat or anything). Well, they ended up moving him to the middle seat instead. Poor Byron wrestled Isabella for the full 3 1/2 hours. She is very independent and loves to run around. That is just not possible on a plane. She had a hard time. So did Byron. Cara was fine just nursing and sleeping. When Cara is no longer nursing maybe it will be a little easier to travel with them since we would be able to pass them back and forth.
We were exhausted. I only had three hours of sleep and Byron stayed up. That made it rough to fly 6 hours. So, we made it to Ohio and guess what. There was like 6in of snow! BLEH! I hate snow. It was freezing and the roads were scary. But we were home.
My brother and his girlfriend came home from Japan just two days later. Now the whole family was home.
We got to go to the Woodall Family Christmas party(even saw Santa) and Christmas Cookie Day. We got to visit One Way Church and Kings Way Fellowship. Hung out with Jimmy, Lori, Tiffany, Travis and Sarah. Cara and Gracyn were finally introduced. We got to see Brandon, Lindsey and Layne and then visit with the entire Griffis family. Lunch with JJ was fun (especially when Isabella started to imitate his randomness). I got to take the girls to dinner for Aunt Jordan's birthday. We got to do so much during this visit. It was great.
It was so great to see family and friends. We are very blessed with all God has given us!!
